I’ve made quite a few turkey burgers in my day. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good beef burger, but sometimes I just want something a little different. Most turkey burger recipes I find to be too tough. Nope, no thanks! Some that seem as though they’d be more juicy, well…they just fall apart. Uggggs.
After lots of experimenting, I present to you the juiciest turkey burger ever …seriously!

The Juiciest Turkey Burger …seriously!
Ingredients
- 1 lb. Ground Turkey
- 1 Egg
- 1 T Milk
- 1 T Breadcrumbs
- ⅓ C Chopped Onion – More if you like, less if not, or leave out; onions do add lots of flavor & texture!
- ½ inch Cooking Oil – I use avocado oil, but use what you want
Customize with seasonings:
- I add Italian, garlic powder, and salt & pepper
- I love this poultry seasoning which I keep in the freezer to help it stay fresh. I use it in crockpot meals, soups, on roasted vegetables, etc. –> Poultry Seasoning
- 1 t of liquid smoke: I rarely use this, but it stays good a long time –> Liquid Smoke
Instructions
- Place a large skillet over medium high heat. Add about a half inch of oil.
- Grab a bowl, dump in all ingredients, and mix well with your hands.
- The consistency will be pretty thin, but don’t worry. The 4 juicy patties come together perfectly!
- Flatten and smooth the mixture in the bowl and stamp out on top 4 equal size patties.
- Scoop out with your hands, form patty, carefully place in skillet.
- Leave them alone! Seriously…just leave them be for several minutes. After 5 minutes or so, lift up the first one you put in and see if it’s nice and brown. If not, leave them alone! If it is, carefully flip them over.
- If you flip too soon, they will fall apart (still tasty, but not pretty).
- Same thing for this side…leave the patties alone! They should be brown and caramelized on both sides. YUM!
- When a thermometer says 165 &/or juices are running out clear, they’re done.
- Eat however you like…bun or no bun, lettuce, mayo, in a wrap…up to you!
Pretty easy, huh!? Just to reiterate, do not rush flipping the burgers. Just let them be so they get all browned and caramelized. Patience is key here!
