Many women around the world don’t find shaving on a regular basis to be important. Some even feel comfortable skipping it altogether. Others today find the notion of letting your hair grow to be quite natural and feminine; others seek the softest, smoothest skin.
If you happen to be on the soft and smooth side of the fence and you’re among those who do shave regularly or occasionally it makes sense to shave in a manner that promotes healthier skin. Right?
Unfortunately, that’s not as easy as it sounds.
Questionable Ingredients Lurking
Most conventional shaving creams contain synthetic fragrances and foaming agents. Many of which are known carcinogens and endocrine disruptors (FDA 2011). Just take a look at the back of your shaving cream. Can you pronounce these ingredients or understand their purpose?
What’s even more concerning is that when we shave either in a warm bath or shower our pores open up. This means all those questionable ingredients have an even easier path to our bloodstream.
Sometimes the side effects of using a mainstream shaving cream appears as irritation, burning, or a rash (Turkoglu, 1999). Most of us can recall many times that has happened during or after shaving, often blaming it on our razor when it was a whole other matter.
That’s why making the switch to a natural homemade shaving cream recipe is truly the best way forward if you want to avoid health risks and uncomfortable side effects.

Why Make the Switch to Homemade Shaving Cream
This ultra creamy homemade shaving cream recipe is a combination of natural ingredients that support healthy skin. Layered with intense moisturizing, shea butter that soothes and nourishes the skin while shaving. In addition to providing a layer of protection between your skin and the razor.
And blended with unrefined, virgin coconut oil and sweet almond oil to smooth hair for a closer shave without irritation. (Learn more about carrier oils here). With a boost of rosemary antioxidant too, our #1 choice for natural preservation in homemade creams to extend the shelf life.
