Do you ever find yourself scratching at incredibly dry skin, like you’ve turned into a human itch machine? That was me just a few weeks ago. Out of nowhere, my skin became unbearably dry, and I couldn’t stop scratching my legs. While it wasn’t bad enough to break the skin, the red marks were enough to make my husband give me worried looks.
It took me a while to figure out the culprit—my new shower gel. Who knew it would dry my skin out so badly? Needless to say, I tossed it and went back to basics to bring my skin back to life. That’s when I made this amazing kokum butter sugar scrub.
If you love sugar scrubs, you know they can work wonders for softening and exfoliating your skin. But when you’re dealing with crazy dry skin, sometimes you need to step things up with a super-nourishing butter. Enter: kokum butter.

Why This DIY Sugar Scrub is for Dry Skin
- Kokum butter is a powerhouse ingredient when it comes to soothing dry, itchy skin:
- Revitalizes Skin Cells: Supports natural elasticity and cell regeneration.
- Rich in Nutrients: Packed with essential fatty acids and vitamin E for deep hydration.
- Non-Comedogenic: Won’t clog your pores, making it perfect for all skin types.
Note: Avoid kokum butter if you have a nut allergy.
- 2. In this recipe, kokum butter pairs beautifully with jojoba oil, another skin-loving ingredient. Jojoba oil is excellent for all skin types:
- Moisturizing: Provides hydration without greasiness.
- Balances Oil Production: Tricks your skin into thinking it’s produced enough sebum, making it ideal for oily or combination skin.
