Growing up in a Hindu household, all the yogis that I heard of were skinny old Indian sages who had spent a lifetime praying in the wilderness in order to attain some sort of divine enlightenment.

Well, needless to say, the yogis of 2015 are a far cry from the yogis I grew up hearing about (many of them still have man buns, mind you!).

Luckily, in the past 30 years, yoga has become much more accessible and fits beautifully well into any busy, modern day lifestyle! I love yoga for so many reasons – from the mind body balance, to the great stretch and workout it provides, to its grounding ability. I’m currently 9 months pregnant, and as I’ve said time and time again, I would have been at a total loss this pregnancy without yoga.

Even my 3 year old son loves doing yoga and joins in by working through his yoga DVD. Yoga has helped him when he needs to calm down, not only by helping him learn to take full, deep, calming breaths, but also by helping him alter his emotions with something as simple as a good lion’s breath (which always results in a great laugh after).

As a modern day momma, I also love getting treated in convenient, long-lasting, and economical ways.

I used to love going out for pedicures or a few drinks, but let’s face it, there’s no time for that anymore and I’d much rather treat myself in different ways. A good book, a new accessory, or a fun and exciting monthly subscription box!

I’ve tried out a few subscription boxes before and always enjoyed the anticipation before getting the box. Plus, getting real mail (not bills) feels pretty darn good! When I recently had the opportunity to check out the Buddhi Box, I was the most excited I have been about a subscription box.

The Buddhi Box was created in by Maxine Chapman, an American yoga teacher. She started the box as a way to share the healthful and helpful products that she loved with other people who enjoy the yoga-lifestyle. The whole concept of what goes into the Buddhi Box was something that I knew I would love.

I was not disappointed when I came home to find my Buddhi Box waiting for me!

First of all, the Buddhi Box is different from other subscription boxes because of the variety of products it contains. There is a great range of items, all of which can fit into different parts of your healthy and conscious lifestyle.

The August box, for example, had:

Also, every month’s box contains a different pose card by Yogi cards, that not only illustrates the pose, but explains the benefits and how to do the pose. And every month, a portion of the sales of the boxes goes towards a different charitable organisation; August’s charity was Go Light Our World (GLOW), a global organization that spreads eco-friendly solar solutions.

Every single item in the box was an item that I know I would use and love. I also really enjoy the fact that the items included in the Buddhi Box were not just items that I could enjoy. In fact, my husband found the incense before I had had a chance to try it out and when I came home later that night I entered to the amazing smell of red and white sandalwood.

He also loves the coffee and we can’t wait to try out the included recipe suggestion of the Iced Coconut Marley Coffee. Even my son is a fan, loving the smell and texture of the shea butter. My personal favourite was the lotus flower necklace. It’s simple and elegant, and has a perfectly sized pendant for any taste or style.

All of these great, quality items included in the box make the Buddhi Box the best subscription box I’ve had the pleasure of receiving. At an affordable month-to-month subscription price of $30.95 (longer term subscriptions are as low as $25.95/month!) our entire household got some fantastic items to try out that are cruelty free, vegan, organic, and truly conscious. Considering that the value of what was included in the box was $66.00, this is an amazing value. Plus, by subscribing to the Buddhi Box, you support a different charity each month.

Buddhi Box provided a box for review but all opinions are my own.
