Grate or chop the castile soap. A food processor works well for this, or you can finely chop the bars with a knife.
In a large mixing bowl, combine washing soda, borax, baking soda, and Epsom salt.
If using lavender essential oil, mix it with a few tablespoons of baking soda first to help it disperse evenly, then add to the mixture.
Add the grated soap and stir until evenly distributed.
Store in an airtight container, such as a glass jar or a sealed canister.
