Real Food Ice Cream Bar

Today I combined three of my favorite things: ice cream, cookies, and chocolate. Sounds good, right? Well, it was (and it was healthy, to boot)!

One of these three ingredients is a convenience food. I don’t have an ice cream maker yet (wanna recommend one for me)? I’ve tried making ice cream just in the freezer, but it never turns out right.

Luckily, I’ve found a tasty ice cream that I feel good about serving to my family and eating myself. No one has reacted negatively to it (with all of our crazy food allergies and whatnot), which is great. So, it’s one of only a few convenience foods we use in our mainly scratch kitchen.

The other two are recipes I’ve created and posted about on my blog. So, I thought I’d share with you this easy way to have a healthy treat by combining a few quick and easy recipes.

  • First, scoop out the ice cream (or use your own if you are fortunate enough to have an ice cream maker or an excellent freezer recipe…and if you do, please share).
  • Second, crumble up your Ice Cream Cookies and sprinkle on top.
  • Third, crumble up your homemade “chocolate” chips and put it on top.
  • Fourth, eat.
