Being a farmer is not for everyone. Owning and operating a small family farm is hard work, lacks vacation and sick days and is not on the high end of the pay scale. Animals don’t care that it is Christmas or if you’re tired — they rely on you to care for them and it is a never ending job. Often days you wake up in the dark and you go to sleep in the dark. Sort of like how being a parent is. 🙂 Nevertheless, it’s probably one of the most rewarding jobs out there and for good reason.
The incredible life lessons that are learned on a farm make an everlasting impression on those fortunate enough to grow up around it. If you grew up on a farm, you know what I’m talking about. If not, I’m sure you can appreciate these 10 life lessons Amanda learned from being raised on a dairy farm and how she’s going to make sure her children learn the same.
